San Diego, California is a great vacation destination with a variety of unique places to go and things to do. This city offers rich heritage, a unique blend of cultures and people, as well as beautiful natural sights to behold.

San Diego Zoo
Lions, tigers and bears, oh my. The San Diego zoo is an excellent location to visit and one of the largest zoological parks in the world. Home to a number of beautiful exotic animals like jaguars, pangolins, wombats and more. The zoo also offers a variety of educational exhibits as well as workshops and presentations from some of the most knowledgeable animal experts and zoologists in the United States.
While you are there, stop and check out the tropical Hawaiian gardens and the safari park where you can climb through the jungle ropes, watch cheetahs display their impressive speed or even go ziplining! There’s something to enjoy for kids of all ages at the San Diego Zoo.
Torrey Pines State Reserve
This beautiful country is full of flora and fauna that you will love to behold. The Torrey Pines State Reserve is home to the red tailed hawk, jackrabbits and red tailed mule deer. The Torrey Pines Reserve is located just minutes north of the city of San Diego. This astonishing piece of land offers breathtaking views and a welcome distraction from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Originally established as a 324 acre plot of protected land by the San Diego city council in 1899, this nature preserve came under state protection in 1956. Today the park encompasses over 1,000 acres of cliffs, beach, and more.
The Gaslamp Quarter, which has been a melting pot of cultures and cuisines for over 150 year. Touted as the premier entertainment district on the west coast, the Gaslamp Quarter offers a bit of something for people of all backgrounds.
This 16 block area is home to some of the most unique shops and establishments. Grab a bite to eat at popular Greek fusion restaurant “Meze,” or visit one of the many shops and art galleries found here.
This historic neighborhood is the home many one of a kind bars and lounges like the fabulous Pool House – a San Diego rooftop bar.
This amazing district in the heart of San Diego has something to offer everyone, and is a great place to make memories which will last a lifetime.
Balboa Park has been called the “leafy green center” of San Diego. It is a 1,200-acre urban cultural park. In addition to open space areas, natural vegetation zones, green belts, gardens, and walking paths, it contains museums, several theaters, and the world-famous San Diego Zoo. There are also many recreational facilities and several gift shops and restaurants within the park.
There are many unique activities and attractions to take part in in Balboa Park, but if you prefer to soak up some rays, go for a quiet walk, or have a nap in the shade of a tree in this park, that’s okay, too.
